Microwave Active Compositions (MWAC)
Coat a sheet or an object with MWAC using roller or brush. The coated surface should be compatible* to our products and free of dust and impurities. Wait until MWAC coating dries up completely (between 12 - 24 hours). Place the sheet/object in the desired location inside the microwave cavity. Irradiate it to identify the actual areas of microwave hits. If you need to use a stand to hold the sheet/object in place, it should be transparent for microwaves. Sheets/objects coated with reversible MWAC could be used multiple times. If after irradiation some traces of spots still remain on the sheet/object coated with purple MWAC, place it at cool place (refrigerator) until the original color reverts back. Do not wet the coated sheets/objects because the water will dissolve the coating. Keep them in cool, dark, and dry place. Avoid exposing to direct sun ligh.
Do NOT irradiate the MWAC in an empty cavity longer then specified for:
Magnetron output power: 1.0 kW
Ambient temperature: 77 F (25 C)
Cavity volume: 1.0 ft³ (28 L)
Purple - about 3 seconds
Blue - about 7 seconds
Red - about 10 seconds
White (transparent when coated) - irreversible - about 10 seconds.
If the magnetron power is higher than 1 kw, begin irradiation with shorter time using RED MWAC.
Longer irradiation may destroy the fine microstructure of the composition.
Extremely long irradiation could cause fire!
* The surface subject of coating should be free of any traces of salts, organic solvents, acids, and bases. All of these chemicals may destroy the MWAC. We do preliminary research for any surface subject of coating at request of the customer.
